Yoshinobu Miyake (三宅 義信 Miyake Yoshinobu , born November 24, 1939) is a former Japanese weightlifter and Olympic champion and a retired Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Major General. A native of Miyagi Prefecture, he graduated from Hosei University and joined Japan Self-Defense Forces (Japan's armed forces). He received a silver medal at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome.[1] He won a gold medal at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo,[2] and again a gold medal at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City.[3] In 1993 he was elected member of the International Weightlifting Federation Hall of Fame.[4]
