Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Wolfgang Hans Heiner Paul von Bostell (25 February 1917 – 10 May 1991) was a highly decorated Oberleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and its higher grade Oak Leaves was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Wolfgang von Bostell was captured by Soviet troops in May 1945 and was held until October 1953. During his career, he was credited with the destruction of 48 tanks and armoured vehicles.[Note 1]
