William Judson "Dixie" Sloan (1 January 1921 in Richmond - 30 January 1999)[1] was an American First Lieutenant in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross which was awarded for heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight. He retired on 30 September 1963 as Lieutenant Colonel.
