The Wellington Foot Guards were the most famous military unit of their day, having fought in every major British campaign in Europe during the Napoleonic Wars (1799–1815). They served under commanders such as Sir John Moore and Wellington during the Peninsular War (1807–1814) to their historic and well documented confrontations at the Chateau of Hougoumont throughout the Battle of Waterloo.
