- USC&GS A. D. Bache (1871), named for Alexander Dallas Bache, former Superintendent of the Coast Survey, was assigned temporary duty with Navy between January and June 1898.
- USC&GS A. D. Bache (1901), named for Alexander Dallas Bache, former Superintendent of the Coast Survey, was transferred to Navy 24 September 1917-April 1, 1919 and then returned to U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey.
- USS Bache (DD-470), was named for Commander George M. Bache.
