Design[]

The customized design is ocean going and larger then the Challenger-class submarine and Archer-class submarine classes operated by the Republic of Singapore Navy.[2] The design is expected to be influenced by the Type 216 submarine, which has been proposed to several other navies (Australian, Canadian and Indian.) Features will include AIP, and a combat system designed by both Atlas Elektronik and ST Electronics.[1]

Competitors[]

DCNS competed to supply 3 submarines to the Singapore Navy for $1.8 billion.[4]
