Tsutsumi Fusaki (堤不夾貴, March 3, 1890 – July 21, 1959) was a lieutenant-general of the Imperial Japanese Army in World War II.[1]
Life[]
Born in the city of Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture, he graduated from the academy in 1922. He took part in invasion of Manchuria as chief of Staff of the 10th Infantry Division in 1931, from which he arrived in Jiamusi, after which soon departed in the metropolis to command the infantry group. In October 1943, he arrived to command the first Kuril garrison. In April 1944, he formed the 91st Infantry Division. He commanded the defense of the north-Kuril Islands during the Kuril landing operation. On August 23, 1945, he signed the terms to surrender his troops.[2]
