The Sri Lanka Air Force Women's Wing was formed in 1983 which contains the female members of the air force. Members of this wing serve in the same role as their male counterparts. The wing consists of both airwomen and lady officers.[1][2] The wing was formed in 27 February 1983 by the assistance of Women's Royal Air Force (UK).[verification needed]
