Southern Theater Command is one of the five war zones of People's Liberation Army, was founded in February 1, 2016, its predecessor is the Guangzhou Military Region.
Its jurisdiction includes Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Hainan and the South Sea Fleet.[citation needed]
Its commander is Yuan Yubai and political commissar is Wei Liang.
