In military science, a soft-skinned vehicle is any vehicle that is not armored. This includes trucks, motorcycles, jeeps and cars. It can also include half-tracks and scouting vehicles if they have little or no armor, but is more likely to be a regular production model. These can be used as a general purpose workhorses, like a 53 seater coach or pick-up, a military police vehicle, to a car used for undercover work on the home front.
