Russian control of Ukraine as of 3 August 2022
The Russian occupation of Mykolaiv Oblast is an ongoing military occupation, which began on 26 February 2022, after Russian forces invaded Ukraine and attacked the city of Mykolaiv and began capturing and occupying parts of Mykolaiv Oblast, going as far as Voznesensk. The capital of the Oblast, Mykolaiv has not been captured by Russian forces. However, the city of Snihurivka was captured and as of July 2022 remains under Russian control and somewhat acts as the administrative city.[1] There is a rumor about a potential Mykolaiv civilian administration that would be established in the occupied areas. Several other small settlements have been also captured by Russian forces.[2][3]
Occupation[]
Russian forces occupy the town of Snihurivka which is approximately 60km (37.3 miles) from the regional capital of Mykolaiv. Russia continues to occupy surrounding settlements near the brder with the Kherson Oblast as well as several settlements in the Biloberezhia Sviatoslava National Park.
