Robert Paul Coogan (born April 1, 1922) is a retired vice admiral in the United States Navy who served as commander of the U.S. Navy's Third Fleet in 1975.[1] Coogan was also Commandant of Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy from 1969 until 1971. He was born in Newport, Rhode Island. He now resides in San Diego, California.[2]
