Richard Tyrrell

Rear-amiral Richard Tyrell, (1716-1766).

Rear Admiral Richard Tyrell (1716?-1766) was an Irish officer in the Royal Navy. He was a nephew of Sir Peter Warren, and spent most of his active service in the West Indies, especially in command of the 74-gun HMS Buckingham. Having resigned command of the Antigua station in 1766, he died of fever aboard HMS Princess Louisa en route back to England, and was buried at sea. He has a memorial in the south nave aisle of Westminster Abbey([1] and [2]).
