The Resistance Order (Vietnamese language: Huân chương Kháng chiến) is a kind of order of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam), first created under Decree No. 216/SL of August 20, 1948. of the President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. According to the Law on Emulation - Commendation (promulgated on November 26, 2003), the Resistance Medal is no longer included in the commendation scale of the State of Vietnam.

Overview[]

Resistance Orders to be presented to collectives, families, or posthumously to individuals (including foreign collectives and individuals) with meritorious services and achievements in the Indochina War (1946-1954) and the Vietnam War. Vietnam (1954-1975). Individuals with achievements below the standards for awarding the Third Class Resistance Medal are awarded or posthumously awarded the Resistance Medal. The Resistance Medal has 3 classes distinguished by the number of stars attached to the strip and the medal stub: the first class has 3 stars, the second class has 2 stars, and the third class has 1 star. The competence to confer and posthumously confer the Resistance Order shall be decided by the State President.

Individuals (including foreign individuals) with meritorious services and achievements during the Indochina War (1946-1954) are awarded with medals depending on their positions and duration of participation in the resistance.

1. Timeline for consideration and commendation: from July 20, 1954 to April 30, 1975.

2. Rewarded objects: there are 4 following subjects:

  • Officers and soldiers of the People's Armed Forces, including the army and police.
  • Cadres, workers, state officials and officials of mass organizations, including defense workers and youth volunteers (organized during the period from July 20, 1954 to April 30, 1975) .
  • Commune, ward, village and hamlet-level officials, officers of cooperatives, self-defense forces and militia and guerrillas.
  • Those who are not cadres and soldiers but have made achievements in the resistance war.

3. Criteria for consideration and commendation: The criteria for consideration and commendation for the above 4 subjects are based on each person's time of participating in the resistance war and each person's contribution:

  • Active and continuous work until April 30, 1975.
  • From the day of participating in the resistance war to the time of commendation, there were no serious mistakes.

4. Reward level:

  • First place: awarded to those who participated in the 20-year resistance war.
  • Second place: awarded to those who participated in the resistance from 15 years to under 20 years.
  • Third place: reward those who participated in the resistance from 10 years to less than 15 years.
