The Reserve Division of Xiangyang (Chinese: 襄阳陆军预备役师) was activated on September 13, 1983, in Xiangyang, Hubei. In November 1983, the division was renamed as the Reserve Division of Xiangfan(Chinese: 襄樊陆军预备役师) following the disestablishment of the prefecture-level city of Xiangyang.
The division was then composed of:
- 1st Regiment - Xiangyang[1]
- 2nd Regiment - Zaoyang[2]
- 3rd Regiment - Suizhou[3]
- Artillery Regiment - Yicheng[4]
In March 1986, the division was redesignated as the Reserve Infantry Division of Xiangfan (Chinese: 襄樊陆军预备役步兵师).
In April 1999, the division was redesignated as the Reserve Infantry Division of Hubei(Chinese: 湖北陆军预备役步兵师).
In April 2005, the division moved to Wuhan, Hubei[5] and was reconstituted as the Reserve Anti-Aircraft Artillery Division of Hubei(Chinese: 湖北陆军预备役高炮师).[6][7]
The division was then composed of:
- 1st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment - Wuhan[8]
- 2nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment - Xiaogan[9]
- 3rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment - Huangshi[10]
- 4th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment - Jingzhou,[11] activated on July 7, 2005[12][13]
