Remark:
NATO STANAG 2116 lists Officer Designates (listed here as OF(D)) of some countries alongside OF-1 ranks.
Warrant officers (WO1–5)[]
Warrant Officers (WO) in the US Military rank below officers and above officer candidates and enlisted servicemen. The first warrant officer rank, WO1 is not commissioned, instead having a "Warrant" from the Secretary of the Army. WO1s may be and sometimes are appointed by commission as stated in title 10USC. Chief Warrant Officers are commissioned officers that are ranked above officer candidates and enlisted serviceman and are below the rank of O-1/OF-1.
