The Régiment de La Couronne was an infantry regiment of the Kingdom of France created in 1643.

- 1643 : creation of the Régiment de La Reine-Mère
- 1666 : designated as Régiment de Genlis
- 1666 : designated as Régiment d’Artois
- 1673 : designated as Régiment de La Couronne
- January 1, 1791 : designated as 45th Line Infantry Regiment
- December 3, 1794 : the 1st battalion was reformed by incorporation to the 85th Battle Demi-Brigade (French) during the formation of the demi-brigade.
- 1795 : reformation, the 2nd battalion being incorporated to the 86th Battle Demi-Brigade (French) during the formation of the demi-brigade.

Regimental Colors[]
During the Siege of Maastricht (1673) (French) in 1673, the Régiment d’Artois was designated as La Couronne (The Crown) for valor in arms accomplishments while receiving a new regimental white color cross on azur background with motto Dedit hanc Mastrika coronam « Maastricht [lui] a valu cette couronne » (accomplishments at Maastricht crowned the regiment).
9 regimental colors out of which 1 "white" Colonel and 8 of Ordinance, « all blue with French Crown in gold in the middle of each white cross ».[1]

Campaign and battles[]
- Régiment de La Couronne
- The regiment de la Couronne was garrisoned in the city of Bonn during the Siege of Bonn (1703) (French). On October 13, 1703, the marquis d'Allègre, governor of the city, sent the regiment in a counter-attack. Colonel de Polastron was wounded in action during this operation.[2]
- 45th Line Infantry Regiment
The 45th Line Infantry Regiment participated to the campaigns from 1792 to 1793 with the Army of the North (France) (French), and in 1794 with the Army de Sambre-et-Meuse (French).
