Major Initiatives[]

The Mission Command Convergence Strategy

Project Manager Mission Command's Convergence Strategy will collapse disparate systems together and converge with Intelligence systems through definition and implementation of the Common Operating Environment (COE) and the Command Post Computing Environment (CP CE).

The strategy's goals are to:

  • Reduce unique tactical systems (Mission Command, CSS and Intelligence systems) by converging and reusing capabilities in a common operating environment
  • Consolidate “back office” infrastructure consistent with Army GNEC and Joint Command and Control Architecture (JC2)strategies
  • Leverage a common Web framework with PM DCGS/NSA to external information access and collaboration reach (Ozone Widget Framework)
  • Significantly enhance commander and staff ability to effectively conduct collaborative mission planning and execution across a range of operations and the spectrum of conflict
  • Provide a common government-owned-and-managed foundation architecture
  • Define a unified approach to data handling and infrastructure procurement
