Preston Hartzog (August 9, 1976 – June 21, 2006) was a former United States Army Specialist that competed as an amateur and professional boxer.

Former All-Army Champion[]

While serving in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division on active duty, he won a silver medal at the World Military Games in Croatia, two golds and a silver in the U.S. Armed Forces Boxing Championships and was named 1997-1998 All-Army Champion Super Heavyweight and Four Corners USA Regional Boxing Champion. Hartzog was also awarded the Army Achievement Medal and Army Commendation medals. Hartzog was member of the World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) on Fort Carson in 1999. As explained on their website, WCAP is not a developmental program; it targets athletes who have achieved world class status in their sport. After competing as an amateur boxer he turned pro in 2001. He boxed professionally from 2001 to 2005, compiling a 15-1-1 (4 KO's) record. He competed at The Orleans Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2005.

Beat Cabbage Correira[]

Hartzog was managed during his professional boxing career by his sister Anna-Beth and her husband actor John Goodman. Goodman has starred in many movies, including the 2007 movie Death Sentence. Hartzog decisioned Wesley "Cabbage" Correira in his only professional MMA bout on November 14, 2000 at Superbrawl 19 in Honolulu. Hawaii. Correira holds wins over Jason Lambert, Eric "Butterbean" Esch, Joe Riggs, Tank Abbott, Justin Eilers, and Travis Wiuff.

TKO'd by O'Neil in 1999[]

Hartzog lost to Matthew E. O'Neil by a TKO in a USA boxing sanctioned bout in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1999. It was the only time Hartzog was defeated during the course of the action in his career.
