The Type 2 was a Japanese bolt-action rifle. The rifle was commonly used with paratroopers. The rifle was a variant of the Type 99 rifle and could be disassembled to fit into a paratroopers kit.[1] The rifle's most famous appearance was in The Manchurian Candidate, when Raymond Shaw was brainwashed into assassinating a presidential candidate, it was concealed in a briefcase.
