Operation Waterfall was part of Operation Mincemeat, which was a deception plan to trick the Germans to think the Allies would land in any other place in the Mediterranean except Sicily, which is where they were going to land. It involved creating a decoy army in the eastern Mediterranean to trick the Germans that they will land in the Balkans. The Anglo-American force also created some dummy inflatable tanks and vehicles.[1][2]
