The Mexican Indian Wars[2] refer to the conflicts fought between Spanish, or Mexican, forces against Mexican Indians. The period begins with Hernán Cortés' conquest of the Aztec Empire in 1519[3] and continued until the end of the Caste War in 1933.[4]
