The Lycée naval[1] or Collège naval (KN) is one of France's six military lycées. It is part of the Brest Naval Training Centre (the Centre d'instruction naval de Brest, or CIN). Housed in the Brest naval base, the CIN also includes the École de maistrance (training future naval non-commissioned officers) and the seamen's training school.

The school has two aims - to help naval families, and to help recruitment to the French Navy. Its teaching is divided into two distinct parts:

  • classes as taught in any lycée - grouped in seconde, première and terminale - in the sciences, economics and literature (though the literature section is closed for efficiency)
  • "classes préparatoires aux grandes écoles" (CPGE), with the main aim of preparing students to enter the officer training schools of the Navy, Army, Air Force and military engineers
