After losing parts of her masts in the Bristol Channel near Lundy on 1 January during a voyage from Newport, Wales, to Santos, Brazil, with a cargo of coal, the barque broke her tow and drifted onto the Doom Bar in the Camel estuary, where she was wrecked. All of her crew were saved.[1][2]
