Note the above list is not exhaustive either to country, models or variations. It started as a list of a private collection and has been added to by various collectors over time as personal collections have grown. It is also missing a lot of bayonets issued pre 1860ish that were of the socket type, as the two major collections noted in the references are primarily none socket collections. Without taking into account date and manufacturer variations for some of the bayonets (for example WWII German 84/98's have nearly 200 makers/date combinations for the serious collector to find) there are still several thousand Models of bayonets made from the earliest to the most recent.
