The Royal Military Academy (Dutch: Koninklijke Militaire Academie or KMA) is the service academy for the Dutch Army and the Dutch Air Force. Located in Breda, the Netherlands, the KMA has trained future officers since 1828.

Description[]

The KMA offers a program of study which lasts four or five years, depending on the academic major cadets choose.[1] Academic programs have changed significantly during its history. In today's program cadets are awarded a bachelor's degree upon graduation, and are commissioned in the Royal Dutch Army or the Royal Dutch Air Force.[1] The KMA also offers a shortened officers course of one and a half years.[2] The training of the officers of the Royal Dutch Navy and the Dutch Marine Corps is mainly done by the Royal Netherlands Naval College in Den Helder. The campus is about one kilometer square.
