Junud al-Sham (Soldiers of the Levant) is a group of Chechen fighters who have fought during the Syrian Civil War.[1] The leader of the group, Muslim Al Shishani, was sanctioned by the US State Department on 24 September 2014[5] for reportedly building a base for foreign fighters.[6]
