Jeff Davis Cavalry Legion

Jeff Davis Cavalry Legion was an elite Confederate cavalry unit during the American Civil War. This unit fought primarily in the Eastern theater with the Army of Northern Virginia. The Legion consisted of the following cavalry companies and the counties and states that they were raised in:

Comp. B - Chickasaw Rangers - Chickasaw County, MS
Comp. C - Southern Guards - Kemper County, MS
Comp. D - Sumter Mounted Guards - Unknown County, AL
Comp. E - Canebrake Legion - Unknown County, AL
Comp. F - Georgia Hussars - Chatham County, GA
Comp. G - Liberty Mounted Rangers - Liberty County, GA
Comp. H - Morehead Rangers - Unknown County, AL
Comp. I - McKenzie's Company - Unknown County, AL
Comp. K - Robert's Company - Unknown County, AL
