The Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force is the Naval force of Japan. The JMSDF is part of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and operates in 5 districts surrounding Japan and its territories.

Origins

In the early history of Japan before Japan was unified, the nation made interactions with the Asian continent, it included transporting troops, in the beginning of the Kofun Period in the 3rd century.
