Inoue Hikaru (井上光?, 8 November 1851 – 17 December 1908) (Inouye Hikaru) was a Japanese military officer.[1] Inoue served in his clan forces against the shogun in the Boshin War during the Meiji Restoration. He joined the new government army and took part in pacifying the Satsuma Rebellion. He fought in the First Sino-Japanese War. He commanded the Twelfth Division of the First Army in the Russo-Japanese War, taking part in the Battle of Yalu and the Battle of Mukden.
