Hisar Military Station is the base headquarters of the 33rd Armoured Division of Indian Army.[1] It is a part of I Corps which is a "Strike Corp".[2] Corp is a battle formation within a Command. Hissar is part of South-Western Command Headquartered at Jaipur.
In 1996, Brigade of the Guards arrived here for conversion to mechanised profile. The unit is now a fully mechanised battalion.[3]
History[]
It was raised on 15 November 1982 by Major General L. B. Sondhi.[4] It was converted into an Armoured Division in December 1993.[4] It is an Artillery Division and its equipment profile consists of T-72 and BMP-2 tanks.[4]
Facilities[]
Kendriya Vidyalaya provides education facilities in the cantonment area.[5] Army Public School was also established in 1990 within the cantonment area to provide education facilities.[6] In 2011, a 250-bedded Military Hospital was inaugurated to provide medical facilities.[7]

Nearest Sainik Rest House for the Ex-servicemen and widows is near the PWD Rest House and Jat College in the Hissar City and can be contacted on the phone 01662-272901, it has 4 rooms for officers, 3 rooms for JCOs and 1 dormitory for the other ranks [14]
