Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Herbert Amann (11 October 1919 – 12 January 1944) was a highly decorated Hauptmann in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Herbert Amann was killed on 12 January 1944 near Novomyrhorod, Ukraine. He was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross and promoted to Hauptmann.
