HMS Tenby was a Whitby-class or Type 12 anti-submarine frigate of the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom. By the early 1970s, in the latter part of her career, she was one of four Frigates whch formed the Dartmouth Training Squadron and was used for the training of Royal Navy Officer Cadets. 3 at any one time plus one in turn in refit. Three 12 week training cruises were carried out per year to coincide with the training programme of B.R.N.C. Dartmouth. 40 cadets were embarked in each ship.
Use in popular culture[]
The fake funeral of James Bond in the 1967 movie You Only Live Twice was filmed onboard this ship, which was near Gibraltar at that time. In the movie, it was supposed to be in Hong Kong.
