George W. Harris (March 6, 1835 – January 30, 1920 or 1921[1]) was a Union Army soldier during the American Civil War and a recipient of the United States military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions at the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House.[3]
Harris joined the army in August 1862, and was discharged after being wounded at the Battle of Five Forks.[4] He died at age 84 or 85 and was buried at Union Cemetery in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.[5]

Capture of flag, wresting it from the color bearer and shooting an officer who attempted to regain it.[3]
