The Chevalier Paul is a Horizon class destroyer of the French Marine Nationale commissioned in June 2009. It is the third vessel of the French Navy named after the 17th century admiral Chevalier Paul.
The Chevalier Paul was launched by DCN in Lorient on 12 July 2006
It is the sister-ship of the Forbin.
In August 29, 2013, she left the port city of Toulon. Some reports claimed it has been deployed to the eastern Mediterranean in response to the Syrian Civil War,[3] but the shipping authorities declined to confirm that it is headed to Syria.[4]
