Despite a ceasefire between the government of Arstotzka and the EZIC rebels that was in place since the implementation since 5 September 2017, fighting broke out on 28 September. Insurgents calling themselves "White Resistance" led by Welthynick launched an attack to capture the border.

Events

Fighting began at Donetsk Airport on 28 September, when 1 border inspector was wounded and seven Arstotzkan border guards were killed during clashes with WR rebels, with Arstotzkan forces suffering losses, the remaining guards choosing to surrender.
