Dipl.-Ing. Ernst Bolbrinker[Notes 1] (23 October 1898 – 2 July 1962) was a highly decorated Generalmajor in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Ernst Bolbrinker was captured in 1945 and was released in 1947.
