The City of Edinburgh Garrison is a regional garrison of the British Army (and formerly the Scots Army) which encompasses all of the regular and reserve units in the Edinburgh area. In 1320, following the Declaration of Arbroath; effectively declaring the independence of the Kingdom of Scotland, the City of Edinburgh Garrison was formed. 700 years on, the garrison continues to support the Edinburgh community and be headquartered at Edinburgh Castle. According to the British Army's website, the garrison is part of the 51st Infantry Brigade and Headquarters Scotland as of February 2024.[1]
