Vice Admiral David Lance Johnston AM, RAN is a senior officer in the Royal Australian Navy. It was announced on 28 May 2014 that Johnston would be promoted to vice admiral on 4 April and appointed as Chief of Joint Operations from 20 May 2014. He has previously been posted as Deputy Commander Joint Task Force 633 in Operation Slipper and Commander Border Protection Command.[1]
