Charles William Adams (3 April 1920 in Brooklyn, New York - 24 December 2000 in Greenville, North Carolina) was a United States Army Air Forces officer who served in World War II.
Early life[]
Charles was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 3, 1920 to William and Frances Adams. He also lived with his brother (William Jr.).
Military Service[]
Charles joined the Army Air Forces. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant (ASN: 0-798226) was assigned to the 360th Fighter Squadron of the 356th Fighter Group, Eighth Air Force from March 1943 to May 1944. He completed a total of 59 missions and one probable victory. His P-47D "Frances Favorite" was named after his mother. He left military service as a First Lieutenant.
Death[]
Charles passed away on December 24, 2000 at the age of 80.
