Caleb S. Blanchard was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.
Biography
Blanchard was born on May 8, 1818 in Victory, Cayuga County, New York. On June 14, 1852, he married Susan G. Ames. She died on January 19, 1860. Blanchard later married Jennette D. Park on July 27, 1861. They would have four children. During the American Civil War, he served with the 22nd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment of the Union Army. Sources have differed on the exact position Blanchard held with the regiment. He became a colonel.[1]
Political career
Blanchard was a member of the Assembly in 1880.[2] Additionally, he was a member of the East Troy (town), Wisconsin Board of Supervisors and justice of the peace. He was a Republican.
