The Battle of Suq al Ghazi took place on September 15, 2014.
The Battle
On September 15, 2014, ISIL gunmen stormed an Iraqi Military base. Not knowing what to do, the Iraqi soldiers made frantic calls for help.
30 minutes after the calls for help, U.S drones arrived and fired at ISIL positions, killing multiple fighters.[1] Several Peshmerga soldiers arrived as backup shortly after.[citation needed]
Aftermath
After ISIL was chased out of Iraqi bases, U.S drones continued strikes on ISIS fighting positions near Baghdad, moving their front back.
