Battle of Grodno (1708) refers to the short battle on January 26, 1708, during the Great Northern War. Charles XII of Sweden vanguard forces surprised larger Russian forces, and tsar Peter I of Russia, who was said to have been in danger of capture, ordered a retreat to Berezina.
