Princely flag of Banswara

Banswara State was a princely state in India from about 1497 until 1949. It was located in what is today the state of Rajasthan.

Banswara was established by Udai Singh, the ruler of Bagar as a domain for his son Jagmal Singh. In 1913 Govindgiri lead an unsucceful revolt of the Adivasi Bhils against the raja. In 1949 Banswara was merged into India.

Banswara state was founded in 1527. It was ruled by the Shishodhya dynasty who were titled Maharawal.
