The Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzbek:O'zbekiston Respublikasi Mudofaa vazirligi Bandasi, Ўзбекистон Республикаси Mудофаа Baзирлиги Бандаси) is the central military orchestra of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was founded in 1992 from the band of the Turkestan Military District.[1][2]
Activities[]
The military band accompanies the honor guard in greeting foreign heads of state, as well as, coming to the republic with official take part in important cultural, sports and social events such as the celebrations of Independence Day of Uzbekistan, the Day of Memory and Honours, Defender of the Motherland Day.[3] In 2017, the Band performed at the Spasskaya Tower Military Music Festival for the first time.[4][5]
