Badlu Ram Ka Badan is the marching song of Assam Regiment of Indian Army.[1][2]
The Song[]
Badlu Ram ka badan zameen ke neeche hai, Aur hamko uska ration milta hai..
(Badlu Ram's body is beneath the ground, And we get his ration. )
Ek khubsurat ladki thi…
Usko dekh ke rifleman…
Chindi khichna bhul gaya…
Havaldar Major dekh liya…
Usko pittu lagaya…
Badluram ek sipahi thaa…
Japan war me mar gaya…
Quarter Master smart thaa…
Usney ration nikala…
Badluram ka badan zamin ke nichey hain…
Toh humein uska ration milta hain…
Sabashh… hallelujah…
Toh humein uska ration milta hain…
Background[]
Badlu Ram was a soldier of Assam Regiment of British Indian Army who fought in World War. He died while fighting against the Japanese army. After his death, his ration helped the other soldiers for next few days. Hence, this song was composed in his honour.
