Azen Gushnasp, also known by the Arabicized form of Azin Jushnas, was a Sasanian nobleman who served as minister under Hormizd IV. He has been referred as a Kuzi, (meaning native of Khuzestan) by Al-Masudi and other historians.[1]
It seems that when the spahbed Bahram Chobin won a great victory over the Turks, Azen became jealous and accused the general of having keeped the best part of the ito himself and only sending a small part to the king. Bahram, however, later rebelled against Hormizd IV, who sent Azin Josnas to suppress the rebellion. Azen Gushnasp, was, however, killed in Hamadan.
