Archibald C. Campbell (1880 – 14 September 1918) was a Scottish professional football outside left who played in the Scottish Football League for Ayr United, Ayr , Abercorn and Clyde.[3]
Personal life[]
Campbell served as a driver in the Royal Field Artillery during the First World War. He was fatally wounded during the Hundred Days Offensive, and died of wounds at No. 17 Casualty Clearing Station near Hazebrouck, northern France on 14 September 1918.[4] He was buried in La Kreule Military Cemetery, Hazebrouck.[1]
