Alexandre Maître, marquis de Bay (Salins, 1650 – Badajoz, November 14, 1715) was a French military officer in the service of Spain during the War of the Spanish Succession.

Service Record[]

1696 - 1701: in service in the Dutch cavalry, colonel. 1701: offered his services to Philip V of Spain, general of cavalry in Flanders. 1704 : Marquis de Bay, Captain-General of Extremadura.

1709: In command of the Spanish troops he defeats a combined Anglo-Portuguese army at the Battle of La Gudina.

1710 : He suffered a severe defeat at the Battle of Saragossa.
