Baron Alexander Alexandrovich von Taube (August 21, 1864 – January 1919) was an Imperial Russian general who defected to the Bolsheviks after the October Revolution. He was born in Pavlovsk, Saint Petersburg. He was the brother of Mikhail Taube. His other brothers were Yakov, Boris and Sergei. He was a recipient of the Order of Saint Vladimir, the Order of Saint Anna, the Order of Saint Stanislaus (House of Romanov) and the Gold Sword for Bravery. He fought in the war against the Empire of Japan. After his forces were defeated by the Volunteer Army of the Armed Forces of South Russia, he was captured, taken to Yekaterinburg (controlled by the White movement) and imprisoned there. He died of typhus in captivity.
